Practice Times

Practices are held during the lunch hours, 12:20-12:50. Minimum of 2 practices a week need to be attended. High jump practices are held in the morning before school, a schedule is announced weekly based on gym availability. After school practices may be set up based on student interest.

Cost

Athletes will be charged according the number of meets they attend. Athlete costs Will range from approximately $25-$50 depending on the number of athletes attending each meet. The school division will cover all registration, transportation, or accomodation costs for provincials if an athlete qualifies.

Qualifying for Provincials

Athletes need to either meet the provincial standard for their event at one of the meets or finish third or better at the Zone 4 Track Meet. If a student meets the provincial standard, they must still compete in the event at the Zone 4 Track Meet to be able to attend provincials.

Transportation ..

Competing athletes are expected to arrive and depart with the school team, not in their own vehicles. Any student leaving an event with their parents, must inform one of the coaches prior to their departure.

Missed Class Time

Students are expected to communicate their track and field related absences to each of their classroom teachers. Students must make arrangements with each classroom teacher regarding how they will make up missed classwork.
